| What a funny face! |
I've forgotten since when MZ started dislike us to take his photo. Each time I was trying to take his photo, he will started to perform silly faces. Hence, I will always say "Come, let mommy takes a photo of you doing this, so that you could show your teacher xxx." Then, he will only post for photos, sometimes with fake smile. :p
I used to take a lot of his photos when he was a baby - mostly using my phone (being a mother is busy enough, don't think I still be able to grab a camera when I found his candid moments and feel like taking his photo). I store all my photos on 2 cloud storage portal - Flickr and Adobe Revel, so that I could access anywhere I want, and of course could upload from any device wherever I want. Just did a quick check, MZ (now 3 years 5 months) is having 3,401 photos, whereas MY (now 15 months) is having 2,542 photos.
Flickr comes with free 1TB storage, even I have more that 8,000 photos now, it only used up my 2.09% storage. So, it could still last for a while. I was once hate Flickr's interface, but I start to like their recent update interface. :D
Whereas, I paid US$5.99/month to get unlimited storage in Adobe Revel. There is a free account, in fact. For the first 30 days, you could upload as many photos/videos as you want, thereafter, your account will be locked with 50 photos per month. Gosh... sometimes I take more than 50 photos per day for an outing day.
I will still prefer Adobe Revel, because:
1. I am an Apple user - using Macbook Air, iPad Air and iPhone 4S, Adobe Revel started on Apple platform.
2. The photos could shows in track (with photos' date) or grid - I will want to know when was the photos taken to refresh my memories.
3. I stopped storing all my photos in the hard drive. Hence, it is important that I could download the photos in original file, if there is anything happened (touch wood). Revel allows batch original file download in the simplest way. I'd previously used webshots, snapfish and shutterfly. All original file download was either required downloading per photo, or they will send you a CD as per request.
4. Organising photos in Adobe Revel is easier. It took me for quite a while to plan how to organise them, because I have 6,000 kids' photos. Some photos might have both kids together, but I also want to have their own individual albums so that I could find photos easily. So, I would upload all photos to a library called "Family Photos", then drag photos with MZ to "Ming Zhe"'s folder and for MY too. Even if you deleted the photos in albums, it won't affect the photos in the library.
Since, Adobe Revel gives me all the features I am looking for, so I don't mind to pay a little - to save on my hard drive storage. :D Hope it helps you to organise your photos too.
